CodeMetro Begins Partnership with Ohio Non-Profit, 4 Paws for Ability, with Laptop Donation

Monrovia, Calif. (August 6, 2014) — CodeMetro recently partnered with non-profit, Xenia, Ohio-based 4 Paws for Ability, providers of autism service dogs to children worldwide. The working arrangement began with CodeMetro’s donation of two laptops to 4 Paws. The goal of the venture is cross promotion, highlighted by joint attendance at autism conferences beginning 2015 and beyond.

“We were surprised when CodeMetro reached out to us, but we were excited,” said 4 Paws CEO Karen Shirk. “We’re all in this fight against autism together, and the more of us that can get together on it, the more change we can make. We’re very grateful for their donation, but even more than that, we’re looking forward to working more with them in the future.”

Responding to 4 Paws’s donation “Wish List,” the gently used laptops will be utilized by families during a task-oriented, 12-day training period. Children will be using the laptops for entertainment purposes such as playing games and watching movies; while adults receive handler training. 

“We are huge dog lovers here at the office,” said CodeMetro marketing manager Albert Bustos. "We thought it would be exciting to combine our passion for providing therapists with quality software and animals; so we teamed up with a wonderful organization that provides task-trained autism service dogs. We go through these [laptops] quite frequently and were happy to send some to 4 Paws for their use. We are honored to work with such an empowering organization.”

Beginning 2015, the two organizations team up to exhibit at autism conferences nationwide. Accompanying CodeMetro’s staff, 4 Paws will showcase their services by featuring a family assisted by a service dog.
